New Year's Eve
This New Year's Eve we went to Columbia's Symphony of Lights. Every New Year's Eve they open the road for foot traffic and then have a fireworks show at 7pm. It was one of the best New Year's I've ever had. The family friendly activity truly was family friendly. Beckett liked walking by all the lights, especially the snowflakes. And he loved the fireworks. He was laughing and smiling, stamping his feet, pointing, and saying "boom."

"Try Again"
I love how Beckett constantly uses the phrase "try again." He uses it for any minor mishap and most major ones too. Basically he is never frustrated anymore because he just tells himself to "try again." It's also really funny when he tells mom and dad to "try again." (For example, if we are having trouble getting his shoes on properly.)

Boarding a school bus
A bus was parked at the playground the other day, and Beckett spent more time checking it out than he did playing. That says a lot about just how much he loves buses. Then the bus driver showed up and let him on the bus, and she let him sit in the driver's seat. He thought it was pretty awesome even though he was a little wary of the bus driver. Then we watched all the kids load up on the bus, and Beckett waved and jumped up and down while the bus drove away.
In the same parking lot was a big delivery truck. Beckett went to check that out too and got to take a look inside the back of the truck. The truck driver said he reminded him of his kids at that age. Completely vehicle obsessed and yelling, "truck, truck, truck."
Obviously this turned out to be a very exciting trip to the park. We were glad that the drivers were so nice.

"Nice ta Mom."
After a hair pulling incident in sacrament meeting (done mostly out of curiosity) Nate taught Beckett to say "Be nice to Mom." Now he randomly tells me, "Nice ta Mom." Yes, it's good to be nice to mom.
